Therapy integrates the various aspects of our lives and parts of ourselves as we move toward greater insight, power, freedom and authenticity — even through the most challenging times.

Individual Therapy

Your life is dynamic — a confluence of many channels that are both universally human and uniquely part of your individual experience.

I use an existential-humanistic approach to understand your life through themes of freedom, responsibility, authenticity, meaning, safety, belonging, identity, power, and mortality.

Insight, change, and healing through counseling is only possible when there is safety, rapport and trust with an attuned therapist.  Our relationship is the foundation for your therapeutic experience.

My practice is grounded in mind-body connection, and I regularly incorporate experiential practices to establish present-moment awareness in a session and explore the relationship between thoughts, feelings, sensations, and our life stories.

I work with independent adults (18+) living with, but not limited to:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Grief & Loss
  • Stress & Burnout
  • Relationship difficulty
  • Life changes and transitions
  • Spiritual distress
  • Lived experiences of trauma

COUPLES COUNSELING

In couples counseling, I use Gottman Method in conjunction with psychodynamic therapy. Gottman Method is an evidence-based approach based on four decades of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman which combines assessment, practical/tactical relationship skillbuilding, and existential therapy with goals to:

  • Disarm conflicting verbal communication
  • Increase intimacy, respect, and affection
  • Remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy in conflicting situations
  • Create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship
  • Develop and strengthen a sense of shared meaning and life vision

TELETHERAPY

Due to COVID-19, I currently am seeing clients through teletherapy. While I prefer counseling in-person, research has shown teletherapy to be equally as effective. My goal is to eventually return to providing an in-person option when safe.
